This mouse is my oldest mouse. I have had it since 2004. It glows when it is connected to a computer. The optical sensor brightens up when the mouse is being moved, then it dims when you stop moving it. The red light is not very distracting at nighttime.
This light reminds me of what a robot should look like when its parts move. If there were a show that needed this I would use bumps in lighting every-time an object moved on stage.
